Direct TV OR Dish Network |
Do you use Dish Network, DIRECTV or cable for digital television services? If you chose one or the other was it because of the price or the features that the service offers?
It is true that some people only choose a television service provider based on the price of the service that is offered. They don’t care that much about quality. They only care that they are getting the cheapest deal available. On the opposite side of the table are those who would rather get the most bang for their buck. These are the people who are willing to do a little homework so that they can get the television services that are the most useful to them while at the same time paying a price that is reasonable.
The first thing to look at is the availability of digital television. Right off the bat, the satellite TV companies offer all of their services in the digital format. When their services were first started, they realized that digital was the way of the future so they went about setting up their services so that they would be using the latest in digital technologies. The cable companies also realize this but they have been a bit slower in implementing the technology across the board. These days you can get digital programming from the cable companies but only for a limited number of channels.
Therefore, if you’re interested in getting digital television services in your home, but you also want to get the best deal, you’ll need to do just a bit of homework. I would suggest taking a look at each of the three options above in greater detail. Take a look at the channel lineups for each of their programming packages. The idea is to get a large number of the channels that you would actually watch but at the same time, get the programming package that costs the least amount of money per month.
In general, you can expect to pay somewhere around $40 per month unless you just want to go with the very basic programming packages. You can usually get a basic programming package from the cable companies for around $40 per month, $30 for DIRECTV and $20 for Dish Network. So if you decide to go with Dish Network, there could be some extra money available for bonus features such as a higher tier that includes more of the channels that you watch or maybe a few extra receivers so that you can fill up your house with television sets. On this, it should be noted that both Dish Network and DIRECTV offer a free system and receivers installed in up to four rooms of your home.
Eventually, all of the cable companies will go to completely integrating the digital format. In fact, the whole world is switching to digital and turning off analog programming by 2011. Until that time, it would probably be a good idea to go with one of the satellite TV companies for your digital programming services.
